Snickerdoodles

Ingredients: 
1 cup softened butter 1 1/3 cups sugar 2 eggs 1 teasp vanilla 3 cups flour 1 teasp baking soda 1 teasp cream of tartar 1/4 teasp salt 2 teasp ground cinnamon 3 tbsp sugar
Directions: 
Beat butter and 1 1/2 Cups sugar until creamy. Beat in eggs and vanilla. In another bowl, stir together flour, baking soda, cream of tartar, and salt. Gradually add butter mixture, blending thouroughly. In a small bowl, combine cinnamon and sugar. Roll dough into 1" balls, then roll in cinammon mixture to coat. Space 2" apart on greased baking sheets. Bake at 375 degrees for 12 minutes or until lightly browned. Let cool for minute on baking sheets, then transfer to racks and let cool compmletely. Makes 4 1/2 dozen.
